As we access a memory, we alter it – a process known as reconsolidation. These pieces reflect the artist’s efforts to preserve memories of an afternoon spent in solitary exploration and contemplation of the sea and its margins at East Sussex, even as she recognises that each attempt to do this, makes the memory less reliable. Shown at Unit 2 Gallery in St Leonard’s on Sea in January 2026, part of the show Out curated by Matty Emery.
